Olbermann has announced via his twitter account that he will host a special edition of CountDown tonight. He has confirmed he will make a special comment about today's events
In light of today's events, in which Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, as well as several others have been shot, and considering the fact that Giffords was one of those to whom Olbermann made political donations which led to his temporary suspension, it is of particular interest that he has decided to air the show tonight.
Details below the fold.
MSNBC and Politico have announced that Keith Olberman will be airing a show tonight at 8PM Eastern Time.

Olbermann to host Countdown tonight
Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was one of the three Democratic candidates that Keith Olbermann got suspended for donating money to just before the midterms.
Tonight, he’ll host a special edition of "Countdown," normally a weekday program, at 8 p.m, according to his Twitter feed.
MSNBC has been live since 1 p.m. and will continue to be live through "Countdown," according to a spokesman.

Here's another fascinating video with Chuck Todd arrogantly dismissing the now prescient remarks which Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords made of having been placed in Sara Palin's gunsight crosshairs (at about 12:30 in the video interview):
Keith's interview with Gene Robinson:
Update: I had a bit of a scare regarding the shooting. A couple I know in Tucson, who are active in the Democratic party there, had mentioned on FaceBook they were attending a Democratic party event today. After the shooting took place, we wondered if the site of the shooting was the same as the event they went to.
No response came for a long time, as friends gathered on FaceBook questioning his whereabouts.
Finally I realized (silly me) I had recently stored his ever changing cell number on my new phone, so I called them. As it turned out, they, along with two hundred others, were at a different meeting at Tucson Dem Headquarters, and were all watching the events unfold on television, all in shock and sheer grief, since my friends and others there had known her.
I was glad to discover my friends were okay.
