seeing the foul picture of Glen Beck, I was moved to make this graphic.
I wonder if a DailyKos showing of 'Eyes on the Prize' online and perhaps on one of the prominent internet tv outlets could be a rallying point for more sane conversation about what's going on, again, in our country.
I brought up the idea last year, but we were too focused on the midterms to deal with the idea, and reasonably so.
Yet, I wonder if we have a chance to be honest and compassionate at the same time, and not lose our power to change the mindset that's creating this culture of violence.
I don't know, but I hope so. I write and work from very far away in the hope to influence others even a little bit.
When I saw the Kos' Beck post, I cursed.
And I was in the music business in New York City: believe me, I can curse fairly eloquently.
But I wanted to do something tangible, and I don't have much money. So the idea of the picture came to mind. it's clumsy and I hope that our amazingly talented Kossacks will improve upon it (bet they are already working on something).
Anyway, what do you all think of the idea of doing an online showing, maybe after DK4 launches?

The goal i'm trying to get to is to create a current event of shared consciousness, so that we, as citizens, can start talking more from an acknowledged place. I think the Rally to Restore Sanity was a nice idea, and I think Jon and Stephen's hearts were in the right place. But I think we can do more, that is more diverse, clear about the fact this this madness is a right wing phenomenon, telling the historical story that many (including me) have forgotten, and appealing to the better parts of the American spirit.
