I and other users are were experiencing performance problems this morning. Markos has a front page update as well .
This is (was) a quick and dirty diary to report observations.
Closure (and diary edit test):
Show-stopping problems seem to be remedied as of late afternoon Eastern time.
Private messaging appears to be messed up, but not interfering with anything else that I can see.
1:45 p.m. EST update
Anyone seeing consistent improvements? What, if anything, is working better for you now than earlier today?
12:45 EST update
From Markos on Twitter: "500 Internal Server Error"
messages indicate work in progress by the repair crew.
Summary of main issues as of 11 a.m. EST: Generally slow response. Duplicate comments (preview won't go away.) "Scoop hash errors". Blank pages (probably server timeouts)
Some details:
Pages can be very slow to "load", slow to display, slow to respond to clicks, etc.
Some pages end up totally blank: probably server time-out.
Attempting to read some diaries yields a HASH error message like this:
ScoopDK::Error::UNKNOWN=HASH(0xce5ca60)
(the bit in parentheses, which is a hexadecimal number, varies)
Comment preview lingers after clicking Post to publish the comment.
As a possible result of lingering Preview, some comments may be posted twice.
Possible work-around: Ignore the lingering Preview.
Some users report problems getting Recommend to work with comments.
While previewing this diary I received this error:
There was a problem saving your story: An unknown error occurred when contacting the server.
