It's really hard for me to concentrate on anything besides Wisconsin right now. I wish those pesky issues like what's happening with the National Budget could just be put on hold. But reality intrudes.
This morning the NYT ran a good editorial summarizing some of the effects of the budget bill on women.
It's opening paragraph:
Republicans in the House of Representatives are mounting an assault on women’s health and freedom that would deny millions of women access to affordable contraception and life-saving cancer screenings and cut nutritional support for millions of newborn babies in struggling families. And this is just the beginning.
AAUW also has a different list of effects of the HR bill on women. It is attached to an Action Alert with a form you can fill in.
I regret that I am late to this conversation. I have been so absorbed in the effort to protect my rights as a worker in Wisconsin!
