Just saw this on msnbc.com. The "folksy Fascist" is at it again.

You'd think this kind of a gaffe would finish a candidate. Somehow I doubt that'll happen with the Huckster.
Here's the quote:
"[O]ne thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya, his view of the Brits, for example, very different than the average American," Huckabee told host Steve Malzberg, the Washington Post reported. (Huckabee is on a multi-state book tour that is taking him to key presidential nominating states.)
Huckabee's claim that President Obama grew up in Kenya is false. President Obama was born in Hawaii and spent part of his youth in Indonesia, not Kenya. The president's biological father was Kenyan, and Obama barely knew him.
The thing that scares me about Huckabee is his indefinable "likability" factor. He's a charming, easy-going guy who has this ability to make a lot of what he says sound "reasonable" enough that I'm afraid significantly more people than the hard-right base he panders to will be swayed by him.
Maybe gaffes like this one will undermine his credibility enough that if he makes it through the primaries, he'll have no chance in the general.
Maybe his continued support of positions espoused by hate groups like the American Family Association will turn off enough of the mythical "independent" vote that he'll have no chance in the general.
Anyway. The Huckster scares me a bit. Maybe if we can get more people to see just what a fringe lunatic he really is, he'll scare me a little bit less.
