Today, the people of Wisconsin don't have a voice in Madison. Special interest money controls the discussion.
Last month, I have traveled to our state capitol in Madison to stand with our brothers and sisters in their fight to save their union rights. I will once again travel back to Madison this weekend. Governor Scott Walker wants to essentially take away the right of working people to have unions. Taking away rights from caregivers, correctional officers and snowplow drivers means undercutting our state's fragile economic recovery.
This will put the health, safety and well being of our communities at risk.
Unfortunately, Governor Walker and the Republican Senators just aren't listening. Hundreds of thousands of us have raised their voices together at massive State Capitol rallies and spontaneous uprisings all over Wisconsin. We've said it loud and clear in every that way we can. We've done almost everything possible to convince state senators that taking away our bargaining rights is unacceptable.
I don't know about you but I have had enough.
Please join me as we Take Back Wisconsin at www.AsherForWisconsin.com. During the next couple of months, I will be talking with my family, friends and supporters about whether to officially announce a run for Governor; prior to that decision, I want to hear from you. I will continue my conversation with the Wisconsin people over the direction of our great state on our Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/asherforwisconsin.
We all know Wisconsin is a great place and I know we can do so much better.
