Gov. Martin O’Malley is adjusting his offshore wind proposal to ease concerns the project will be too costly to electricity ratepayers.
The governor plans to introduce an amendment to the wind bill that would cap any potential cost to ratepayers at $2 per month for the first year of the project, spokesman Shaun Adamec said. Lawmakers have grilled O’Malley administration officials on the proposal, which would put 400 megawatts to 600 megawatts of wind power off the coast of Ocean City.
