Rebels appear to have forces on the western outskirts of Tripoli
Zawiyah is on the coast about thirty miles west of Tripoli
It appears that there are roadblocks and a buildup of forces at a railroad crossing near a bridge where there has been some fighting resulting in one burned out car.
What appears to be happening is that the no fly order equates to a no move order and Gaddafi can't resupply his forces. As they run out of food, water, gas, and ammo the rebels retake Libya's towns and the reporters begin to advance out of Benghazi now to Brega, the last big oil port, heading west and out of Tripoli exploring the action at the suburbs.
Reports from where the reporters in Tripoli have been confined to their hotel have produced video of people braving the remnant's of Gaddafi's last dregs of support to come forward and tell their story.
While it's a weekend, and news coverage of the fighting is overshadowed by any number of other competing stories, the woman who came to the press in Tripoli to tell the story of her rape and was then carried away by Gaddafi handlers, the riots in Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, the protests and recall efforts in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Ohio, the Earthquake, Tsunami and Nuclear meltdown issues in Japan, let alone what's going on in the hundreds of other places where people are dying in smaller numbers from the usual level of global disaster, I'm pretty sure we are going to be hearing more about rebel successes by Monday.
So far there is no evidence of mercenaries, covert actions, psc's, snipers, probably because most of the oil facilities are already secured, but you have to wonder whether there aren't a few Barrett 50 cal sniper rifles already positioned in the office towers around the government buildings and police stations in downtown Tripoli
