Can you spare 120 seconds of your time to support 3 great groups who would like to meet you at Netroots Nation Minnesota?
Seriously...120 seconds is all it takes!
For those who didn't hear, Netroots Nation is holding a contest- the winners of which will get free exhibit space in the exhibit hall at NN11 in Minneapolis. The contest is open to non profit organizations and small businesses and there are two ways a group can win:
1. Voting is going on now until Tuesday, April 12. The top 3 vote getters will get space.
2. The remaining contestants will be put before a mysterious death panel of judges who will then pick 3 to also get booth space.
Of course, who wouldn't prefer to just win by getting the most votes? That's where your 120 seconds becomes important.
So who am I asking you to vote for?
ProgressiveCongress.org*. This organization, led by our own http://dailykos.com/... Darcy Burner], does so much I don't even know where to begin. Have you noticed the louder voices coming out of the Progressive Caucus lately? That wouldn't be happening if ProgressiveCongress.org wasn't in the background, not just egging them on, but providing some much needed infrastructure help as they go. What kinds of things do they do?
Well, hopefully you've heard me tweeting/facebooking/blogging about Progressive Congress News- we provide aggregated policy news to legislative staffers and we couldn't do it without ProgressiveCongress.org. (While I have you, for another 300 seconds maybe you could donate something for us to auction off in our online auction that starts April 11?)
They also help in the background with things like training for staff and members in how to message better. In January they held a summit for the CPC that not only was well attended, but received the highest of praise from all in attendance.
Like to imagine that you can redistrict your state better than those doing the actual redistricting? Prove it – ProgressiveCongress.org has Dave's Redistricting Tool that let's you do it yourself.
You get my drift. And I happen to have it on good authority that IF ProgressiveCongress.org wins the booth space they have all kinds of happy surprises in store for Netroots Nation attendees.
The second group I'm asking you to vote for is the Community Quilt Project. For those that don't know SaraR, her sister and assorted elves send these amazing gifts of love in the form of quilts to those in our Daily Kos community who are ill or in desperate need of reminding how loved they are. I've not received one myself, but I was proud to suggest a recipient and I was thrilled to get her telephone call as she squealed with glee at the messages on her quilt.
Last, it's not a non profit, but it will benefit Progressive nonprofits, Shopping for Change. This site serves as a shopping portal for Progressives. Join the site, bookmark the site, then use the site to click into the online store you're going for your shopping. That's all there is to it! There's no fees for using the site and no add on fees to your shopping. They make their money from the referral clicks...and here's the best part. Like Credo- a good portion of their profits will go right back to the Progressive Community via donations to Progressive non profits!
So there you have it...300 seconds of you time to help 3 groups WIN free booth space at Netroots Nation in Minneapolis.
Tell a friend and [http://bit.ly/...] vote today!
disclaimer: I'm the Director of Operations for Progressive Congress News and I also do a variety of fun things to help both Netroots Nation itself and ProgressiveCongress.org however I wrote this diary of my own volition and none of em are paying me a penny to do it :)
