Happy Friday! Happy Weekend!
How did it get here so fast? I only have a few minutes before I need to jump in the shower.
I think I might be almost ready to start writing substantive diaries again. I don't think I've done a single substantive diary since DK4 - just pulled up some of my older ones. Anyway, I'm re-reading Sallie McFague's A New Climate for Theology: God, the World, and Global Warming for a review. I'd read it some time ago - I think maybe even before I moved to my new place in 2009, but things have been what they are. If you want to get a flavor of Sallie McFague's ideas, check out An Earthly Theological Agenda
I start a new job on Monday - proctoring exams for disabled students. Already, I am noticing more disabled people in the world than I had before. I have a feeling I am going to be learning a lot from this job.
Last night, was the Peace and Social Concerns meeting, where we discussed several items, including the work of the National Religious Campaign Against Torture, working on educating ourselves on Islam, and we watched the short film Nuclear Tipping Point, in which some of the people the Peace Movement in the 80s spent criticizing echoed all the concerns of the Peace Movement. I had a moment of resentment, followed by a realization that success isn't just about the sweet feeling of victory.
OK - what's up with YOU?
