Last year, as many of you know, my father in New Zealand had a major heart attack and neeed a triple bypass. He is now doing fine and feeling better than he has in some years. He is in his late 60's.
At my son's elementary school, here in Los Angeles, they are having a fundraising effort for the American Heart Association. Its called Jump Rope for Heart. Where they gather sponsers and jump rope for a certain time to raise funds.
My son wants to do it for his Grandfather and all the young kids out there who suffer from heart problems.
Here are some stories of young kids who had heart problems:
Adam, Age 11
“I only have one valve in my heart and one of my valves is leaking. My mom said it was discovered days after I was born. I had two open- heart surgeries. I learned to walk before I learned to crawl because of the scar on my chest.”
Dylan, Age 2
Dylan loves trains, Elmo and all animals…especially his big yellow lab, Jack!
Dylan was born with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. Dylan had a very large hole in between the chambers of his heart (called a ventricular septal defect, or VSD) and had no pulmonary valve (pulmonary atresia). He had a heart murmur and was turning blue at birth, which led to his diagnosis at 5 hours old.
Maddy, Age 7
At age five, the doctors determined that Maddy would need a heart transplant to stay alive. Maddy and her mother had to travel to Missouri, for the transplant. A donor was found very quickly and Maddy’s life was saved by the surgery.
Maddy was born with a rare heart condition called Ebstein’s Anomaly. The first five years of her life were a struggle for her because her heart didn’t work well at all. She had her first open- heart surgery when she was just one and a half.
This is our beautiful, ten year old, son Carlos:
So I am plugging this event everywhere and anywhere I can because this is important to my son. He is an amazing kid.
If anyone would like to donate you can do so here:

Now don't feel that you have to because I know only to well how people are suffering financially during these difficult times.
Thank you to all who read this... in any case his wonderful grandmother donated 50 dollars so we are off to a great start!
Love you all!
