I have been looking throughout Daily Kos and I see all the information in little bits and pieces. I decided here to add up what we have now and I will keep updating this as information continues to come as the evening rush of voters hits. Also, I am now liveblogging this race. Join in the discussion!
Liveblog:
Sorry all but I am going to stop my liveblog now. We should go watch the liveblog with pussytat or David Nir.
7:02 pm
Still a 5,000 lead for P but K seems to be overperforming in the northern part of the state. She is winning Sauk County by 8 while Kerry won it by 4. Also, slightly Republican leaning Sheboygan County is virtually tied with P leading by only 2 votes.
6:51 pm
P is leading again with 51%-49% and 9% of the votes in. Dane County is about 16% in. Milwaukee County though is less than 1% in. The bad news is that Waukesha County is reporting and is going 78% for P. It's only 3% in but still...
6:48 pm
K takes the lead again by 200 votes and 7% of the vote in.
6:44 pm
Brown County is more than half in with a P lead of 10. Bush won Brown County by the same margin.
6:38 pm
First Milwaukee precincts in and K is leading by 28 points. Current vote totals statewide are K 55,415 and P 55,300. Nailbiter.
Also, Outgamie County which voted for Bush by 10 points is going for P by only 2.
6:32 pm
Kenosha County has a reputation for being a swing county. It currently has P leading 64%-36%. Remember that only 3 precincts from Kenosha County are in. On other news, Dane county is 11% in and has a 7,000 vote lead for K. If the margin continue to look that way, is that enough?
6:27
Now with almost 2/3 of the Columbia County vote in, K is leading by 8. Remember, this is a county Bush won in 2004 despite losing the state. If Prosser cannot win Columbia County, he is in trouble.
6:25
Looking better actually. K is winning by 10 in Columbia County, despite Bush winning there by 3. 33% of precincts in Columbia County are in by the way.
6:22
Hmmm, not too good. Prosser is winning 57% in Forest County. It voted only 51% for Bush.
6:19 pm
Next precinct in, this time from Douglas County with Superior. 58% for K but Kerry won Douglas County with 66% of the vote. Still, it is only one precinct.
6:14 pm
First precinct in, 403 for K, 268 for P. It is in Dane County. 60%-40% for K and Kerry won 66% in Dane County. The precinct is from Cross Plains which is a more conservative part of Dane County though.
6:10 pm
While I am liveblogging, I will also compare county results with Kerry '04 in Wisconsin because that election was decided by less than 1 point and is a good baseline.
6:07 pm.
No results yet but when they get here, you will see them here: http://www.jsonline.com/...
5:54 pm
The Democratic party is suing to keep the polls in Madison open another hour.
5:50 pm
Dan Simmons with the Wisconsin State Journal has tweeted that Madison is approaching 70% turnout and that they needed 7,000 extra ballots in Madison.
On slightly worse news, the FDL County clerk needs more ballots too and FDL County voted 64% for Walker.
5:43 pm
In Madison, daily kos user bramish reported that as of 7pm Central Time, he was voter #1475 in his Madison precinct which is much higher than even Novemeber elections.
Middleton: this is a heavily Democratic suburb of Madison and user Dr. Spike reported 2,802 voters in his precinct by the time he voted.
Also, Appleton and Milton have run out of ballots. These ballot shortages appear widespread.
Madison:
According to user pollwatcher, turnout rates in Madison County could reach as high as 80%. Madison voters certainly seem excited because according to one Wisconsin voter, 234 people had already voted in his precinct by 8:30 am. As of 5:00 pm, local news reported that Madison turnout was closer to 40% and should be on track to braek 50% but the high estimate of 80% is unlikely. Most Wisconsin spring elections have 20% turnout rates. Also, a potentially bad sign for Democrats in Madison is that the younger voters appear to be voting at lower rates. Unions though who are one of the most motivated groups of voters are not students and the big anti Walker rallies did not have many students. One voter also said that he arrived 20 minutes before the polls opened in Madison Ward 4, he was 6th in line and by the time the polls opened, the line behind him was longer than the line in the Gubernatorial election. One daily kos user said that he voted at about the same time last November and was voter #278. Now he is voter #821. Note that although some reports in Madison showing high turnout may be overestimating the turnout, all reports still show higher than usual turnout. Also, daily kos user bramish reported that as of 7pm Central Time, he was voter #1475 in his Madison precinct which is much higher than even Novemeber elections.
Milwaukee:
According to many users here and voters, there are large numbers of people collecting recall signatures for Alberta Darling. According to voters though, turnout in Milwaukee is around average. Also, there were some voters in Ward 225 who had their names removed from the voter rolls for inexplicable reasons. Also, there were about 100 voters in one polling place as of 8:30 am.
Rest of State:
Appleton, a swing area which voted for Bush and Obama is expected to have 45% turnout which is high.
Sheboygan, a swing area with a slight Republican lean also had high turnout. If Prosser cannot win Sheboyganh, he should not win the election. If Prosser wins Sheboyganh, it does not mean he has won either.
Bergen in Marathon County: 55 voters by 11am in one precinct.
Wauwatosa: By 3pm, 941 people had voted. I have seen other reports besides this one that have indicated high turnout in Wauwatosa. This town is in suburban Milwaukee.
Wakuesa: Most reports have indicated average turnout here.
Washington County: This is a conservative suburban Milwaukee County and reports show that turnout here is high.
Townsend: By 1:30, the clerk had run out of ballots. A bit before that time, 136 of the 700 elligible voters had already voted.
Pewaukee: By 10:00 am, 474 people had voted which is higher than usual for Pewaukee.
Janesville: Apparently, Janesville was filled with voters with about 50-75 people waiting to vote, according to daily kos user tiredofcrap.
Eau Clarie: According to daily kos user thea lake, one precinct in Democratic leaning Eau Clarie had 450 voters by around 2:00 and they were running low on ballots.
Waunakee: According to daily kos user strengthenof10men, 347 voters by around 11am in one precinct.
Menomonie: Turnout is slightly above average but low compared to Madison's turnout rate.
