I'm very interested to see how those African American members of DK view the Presidency. We don't see skin color here at Kos, and I wonder if Opinions about the President differ among blacks and whites.
Considering the income disparity among blacks, the higher unemployment, the general tendency of Republican circles to be more predjudiced, it seems to me that the black electorate should feel even more betrayed by the Presidents policies than anyone. He has undoubtedly been a party to Republican strategies that screw the poor, at best he has turned his back on them. Conversely, he seems to let the rich get away with looting the treasury when it comes to Wall St.
There have been a ton of diaries over the weekend admonishing the President for what he has failed to accomplish, but I would really like to hear from our African American members what they think.
I know it doesn't matter if you're black or white, and it may be Politically Incorrect to frame this conversation this way, but I put it out there. I would love to see an article that interviewed some of the old time fighters for racial equality on the subject, but haven't so far.
I voted for Obama and have felt tremendously dissappointed. Any input would be appreciated.
