Okay, so not a very nice title, but I am so furious.
Before I go on, a little backround info on me...
I was supposed to be the first in my family to go to college, and even more pressure, become a doctor. Well, it seems I wasn't really cut out for college (too, too shy). So then there is plan B, my Aunt is working in those brand new Atlantic City casinos!
So I go back to school and learn craps and blackjack and I open Harrah's casino in 1980. What a great job, excellent benefits and pay. On top of all that, there is the Casino Control Commission, who keeps those nasty casino owners in line You see NJ gave us casinos to help pull Atlantic City out of depression, they also gave said casinos laws as to the number of table games and supervisors needed. Well, over the years, slowly but surely, Rep. LoBiondo and his minions, worked their magic. Add in some extremely corrupt mayors from both sides, and our casinos were deregulated! The dealers union was defeated by illegal voting and other irregularities. Finally we got a union (I was long gone by then, off to another career choice). I still have tons of family and friends in the casinos, so I was so happy for them. But the casinos refuse to even sit down with the union, and have made it so bad and restrictive, most people are trying to get rid of the union before it is even given a chance to help. Benefits have been slashed to the bone, with most paying huges amounts for family coverage. Part timers were added, and the deregulation has allowed them to be given no benefits at all, but worked like full-time employees! Little by little an industry which brought life back to my area, has now evolved into a modern day sweatshop.
So why the nasty headline you ask. What could "Batman" pssibly do to make things any worse for us?
Here is todays headline in the Atlantic City Press...
Table games supervisors laid off at Bally's, Caesars, Harrah's Resort and Showboat casinos
ATLANTIC CITY - Caesars Entertainment Corp., owner of four Atlantic City casinos, has laid off an undisclosed number of table games supervisors in the first round of personnel cuts related to New Jersey's deregulation of the gaming industry.
Gov. Chris Christie signed into law Feb. 1 legislation ending minimum staffing requirements at the table games, opening the door for casinos to fire pit bosses and other supervisors on the gaming floor.
Caesars Entertainment released a statement Wednesday confirming that table games staff had been laid off. The company declined to divulge the number of cuts or which employees lost their jobs, other than to say they were "isolated to table games only."

Chris Christie has single-handedly done what every other republican politician here has been bribed to do from the day we opened our doors, he has gotten rid of The Casino Control Commission and jump started deregulation. Atlantic City was supposed to create good jobs for our area. The only good jobs now are if you own the casino (and in the case of Trump, can go bankrupt every few years, and get that "great deal" by screwing every vendor).
You are probably still wondering why the vitriolic title. My little sister is one of those floorpeople! She has worked for Caesars since she was 20, she is now 50! She is scared all of the time now, her job is no longer a great job, she barely makes ends meet. And now, she goes to work every day, worried it is her last. In the last two years, she has been diagnosed with irritable bowel, and a myriad of other ailments directly related to the constant stress she is under. The one bright side to the last year, wasn't from Christie (he is actually fighting against it), It was President Obama's health care, which allowed her to add her son back to her insurance at the age of 22. Did you know, here in Atlantic City, The Borgota told their employees they absolutely could not add their children to their medical insurance, they told their employees the health insurance law didn't refer to them!
So, it's been a long time since I have diaried anything, I am rusty, all suggestions are welcome. AND IN CLOSING, I HATE YOU CHRIS CHRISTIE!
