The 32nd annual Endangered Species Faire was held in Chico's Bidwell Park today. Here are some pictures from the "Species Procession, a puppet celebration of the critters we are lucky enough to share the planet with..." reads the official program.
More photos below the fold.
Laughing and running and just having a good time.
A number of people rode horses to get there.
This is Chico Creek which runs the legnth of Bidwell Park.
This is a nearly empty OneMile Recreation Area in the park. Everyone must have been upstream at the faire.
The Endangered Species Faire is sponsored and organized by The Butte Environmental Council. It started in 1980 when a group of Chicoans came together and realized that the way to win the environmental wars in the long term was through educating our youth. They were right.
