Honestly, I have more fun out their in the streets then just about anything. And, so, yesterday, it was a wonderful scene when thousands and thousands of New Yorkers clogged the canyons of Wall Street with a pretty clear demand: MAKE THEM PAY!
Make the banks pay for the mess they created. Make Goldman Sachs pay for the economic crisis that has left millions out on the street--having lost their homes and their jobs. Make the richest pay, rather than cut teachers, services, Medicare and devastate our society.
Let the pictures speak for the marchers.
First, a tool...a new set of Audacity of Greed posters that will become a set of 52 "playing cards" downloadable as posters. The first four were the Aces: Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Rupert Murdoch and Wal-Mart. We've made them for the benefit of the community. Use them! [note: there appears to be a technical problem with the Blogger platform at this time--as a result the most updated version of the site is not present]
And the posters were visible everywhere:
Bank of America--pay up!
This says it all:
It was great to see so many younger people out in the march. They are the ones that will live with this mess for many decades to come--unless we make the banks and the rich pay up:
Along the route, you could see a lot of this--the bankers and Wall St types, who pocket all those bonuses and gambled with our economy, coming out from their offices to see what was happening because it was LOUD AND RAUCOUS:
Some press was there but not enough, IMHO:
We converged from multiple sites and, as the crowd, converged, it got bigger and louder. CAN YOU HEAR US NOW?
Labor was in the house!
Every street was filled.
This needs to happen--every day. A great day.
