Tomorrow, May 14 we will once again rally in Madison to protest the Republican Rampage here in FitzWalkerStan.
Music starts at 2:30 PM and the rally itself begins at 3 PM. Busses are leaving from all over the state (check the above link if you need transportation).
Swag and posters are available here. Donations are also appreciated.
While protests have been ongoing in Madison, most of the activity has become local with Walker protests everywhere he appears among other activities.
We have all been busy with the recalls of 8 Republican State Senators (6 successful petitions were submitted with 4 already approved by the nonpartisan Government Accountability Board) and special elections will be scheduled for July 12. The Democratic Party has filed legal objections to the petitions that were filed against 3 Democratic State Senators because of sloppy and, outright illegal signatures (e.g. signatures of long deceased people, signatures of many people who attest to have never signed the petition, and many incidents where people were misled about what the petition was for).
Great candidates are stepping up to run against the recalled Republicans and campaigns will begin soon.
In addition, State Supreme Court election recounts have been completed throughout the state with the exception of the mess in Waukesha County (which requested and received an extension until May 26) which I documented in a recent diary (and hasn't gotten any better).
We haven't been quiet, idle, or lost interest here. And if Walker and his pals think we have gone away, tomorrow should be another gigantic wake up call. Republicans have brought together the unions, community groups, and people of Wisconsin in a way we have never been united before. We are still fighting to restore our state to sanity.
The rally tomorrow is expected to be as big as the rally for the return of the Wisconsin 14 or the recent Thunda in the Rotunda bike rally. If you are in Wisconsin, I'll see you there.
