I just emailed the Speaker of the House regarding taxes and job creation. This is the text of the message:
Mr Speaker:
I am not from your district. I reside in neighboring West Virginia. As I understand the situation regarding job creation and taxes, a tax cut from 35% to 25% for wealthier individuals and corporations will result in creation of jobs and increased revenue.
My question is this:
If such a cut would help, why not reduce taxes on those individuals and businesses to 0%? Would that not create even more jobs and revenue?
I am not wealthy, in fact I am not currently employed. Let me say, if it would help our nation in these difficult times, that I would support a moderate tax increase for those in the $30,000 to $50,000 income range. As a patriot, I am willing to sacrifice for the good of my country. Indeed, I feel that we all should stand behind any plan that would improve our situation.
Thank you for your time and service.
My questions to Kossacks: Is this too snarky? Do you think I'll even get a response, and if so, what will it be?
If I do get a response, I'll be sure to share it here.
