The Fok News DKOS Group publishes content and opinion related to Keith Olbermann's upcoming television news show and his opinion blog Countdown Online
Keith's commentary comes with homework
The movie Network has a scene where an admonished news personality sits meekly before the chairman of the board to get his religion.
Here is another scene
where Beale pulls the curtain back on television news. "We lie like hell. We'll tell you any shit you want to hear."
Countdown videos now have automatic auto play..
So until they come with a disable auto play feature, here is the link:
Is Glenn Beck .... Good?
In the move Network, Howard Beale is a newscaster who tells his viewers that the individual is dead and the corporate state is a good thing. Most of the folks on Fixed News are like this. They repeat completely absurd arguments. "Obama is not from here. All Muslims are terrorists. Bill O'Reilly is sane." but they do if poorly, as if they can't quite remember the talking points. As if they heard it and agreed with it, but then right in the middle they were thinking, "Oh Look, A Kitty", and they missed whatever was the filling in the BS sandwich.
But Beck is different.. The morning clowns forget, and O'Reilly must necessarily embellish, and Dobbs can't hear very well anymore. But beck is ..... good. Beck gets the whole memorize and repeat it stuff.
Kieth goes on to explore Beck's claim that expanding Americore is building Obama's private army.
Olbermann then cites Axlerod's revelation that Roger Ailes in 2008 was concerned that Obama wanted to create a national police force under the guise of national service. Axlerod said that was the moment he realized that Ailes actually believes what he broadcasts.
There it is. and in glorious color. The exact providence of what Beck and the others are spewing out. Roger Ailes, paranoid, mad man, genius, sees the benign and the normal, mixes in his own prejudices and hatreds, and especially fears.
Roger Ailes lives waking and sleeping the life of the terrified man.
And then he recites them to Glenn Beck.
Now we must ask why Glenn Beck is leaving Fox?
has the puppet realized that somehow he is the puppet?
Or that the puppeteer might be crazier than he is?
When he goes off on his own,
Who is going to keep him hooked on the crazy?
Keith is a Foxolgist. He seeks to understand what has happened to the factual reporting of events in our age of spin and slander. I can't wait to hear what a free range journalist's take is on the state of television news when he is given a platform that is free of corporate censorship.
This is only the beginning.
