So I'm sitting here, watching the least objectionable news [MSNBC, and that's not an endorsement, just the state of affairs given my cable options and the LCD of this modern American menu] while reading various diaries and not really caring about the Anthony Weiner resignation. Up pops this Kasie Hunt chick of Politico [barf] and she is opining on why Weiner is getting the bum's rush and specifically from the Democrats and how Pelosi and the establishment didn't like Weiner for his vociferous support of the public option while Weiner's rant on 911 First Responders is playing in the other box. So there we have it. An admission. Weiner has no friends because he brushed Pelosi's fur the wrong way on issues that constituents care about, namely the Public Option.
This says more about Pelosi and Hoyer and that cabal than it does about Weiner. We get a glimpse of the inside baseball. Apparently Ms. Hunt thinks that Weiner's risky behavior of taking a strong tack against the leadership with his efforts for the Public Option was the reason for his lack of support. I find this far more interesting than the twitter aspect of the story. Wiener lies about his legal interwebbing, Pelosi et al lie about what kind of legislation they want and/are working on. Weiner's lies affect me not. Demleadership lies/obfuscation/lip service affect us all.
Oh, and I am waiting to hear that Greece goes all Iceland. I can hope anyway. Because Jim Kramer [double barf] just admitted that all the CDSs are [nobody knows or they aren't telling how bad] and the "free" market is sweating bullets over it.
