This video of the Obamas is too fun to pass up.
The details of what event this was at isn't known according to the synopsis at Mediaite,Michelle Obama Hands A Crying Baby To President Obama. Baby Stops Crying.
What we do know, however, is that during a recent meet and greet with the people outside the White House, President Obama and wife Michelle encountered an upset and crying baby. When asked for a photo with the commander-in-chief, the First Lady proceeds to hand the crying child to the president, only to watch the baby nearly instantly stop crying. Fonzie!
...Parents of crying babies will recognize that Obama’s comforting of the crying baby seems almost as genuine as the gloating look that he shoots his wife once he quells the baby storm:
The Huffington Post adds:
President Obama probably hasn't had to soothe a sobbing baby for several years. But... the Dad-In-Chief looks like a total pro. When a fan gives her crying child to Michelle and the baby wails away, Barack laughs and says, "You better give her back!" But instead Michelle hands the little girl over and much to everyone's shock (especially Michelle -- that facial expression is priceless), the baby immediately stops crying.
President Obama, meanwhile, just bounces the tot around with an "I told you so" smile on his face. Yeah, he's that good.
NBC thinks the video has political potential:
...the Democratic National Committee is probably skipping with glee right now. Odds that this works its way into a 2012 video? Darn good. (Oh come on, you know you thought about it.)
And over at The Atlantic: "The best expression is the president's gloating glance as Michelle gapes in awe".
The International Business Times shares the video of the Obamas and the baby is "the most adorable thing...ever."
Now if only the whiny babies in Congress were small enough for the president to pick up and console, then maybe this country could get back to work solving some of the problems created during the past administrations.
