News item in today's Boston Globe:
A woman in a Quincy apartment was wounded last week after a gun was fired on the floor above by accident, officials said. Police Captain John Dougan said Joshua Perry, 26, accidentally fired his roommate’s gun Friday night, wounding the woman in the hand. Perry was arraigned in Quincy District Court Monday and pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, and firing a gun within 500 feet of a dwelling, Norfolk District Attorney spokesman David Traub said. The woman told police she was initially unsure what had hit her, and her friend took her to Boston Medical Center. She has since been released.
