When BWD at THE ONLY ADULT IN THE ROOM opened this dialog for folks to chime-in in the 100 things that we love about Barack Obama, I read all the 500 plus comments and was so encouraged that our President has the backing of many good-hearted people who wish him very well. Not only that, there are a lot of people that support and are fighting the good fight to make sure he succeeds.
However, the Republican Party has been trying to make sure that the Barack Obama Presidency is a fail Presidency since day one and they are still at it while taking the country into the abyssal zone. But, Sandy Goodman said it best about these clowns:
The single greatest threat to the United States is not joblessness, foreclosures, another recession or skyrocketing debt or health care costs. Nor is it terrorism, China or declining influence abroad. No, the single greatest threat to our country is today's Republican Party.
That's because the GOP is relentlessly pursuing a policy of the American public be damned, so that next year Republicans can regain the national political dominance they held from 2001 to 2006. Their sole, selfish aim is to complete the transformation of the U.S. to a government of, by and for the rich and the far-right.
Considering the difficulty our President faces running this country, not to mention dealing with a Republican party that is dysfunctional and indeed "childish", without going into all the recent chest pumping and foot-stomping performances of the Republicans that has been disgraceful and cowardly, I just feel like this community can help send the President some love to let him know we support him and appreciate him.
If you would drop a comment or two about what you love about the President, I bet, he will read it and I am sure will cherish your encouragement.
So, I will just quote a few comments of some folks from the 100 things that we love about Barack Obama essay at BWD's web site and post some pics below the fold.
His blinding intelligence, coupled with great values, judgment, and bearing – an unbeatable combination and I’m only scratching the surface.
His ability to see good in people that I can’t. He never complains, he just keeps working for the good of all people.
his laser-like focus on his responsibilities and the unflappable ability to multi-task. He does everything effortlessly.
His self-deprecating nature, despite being the most important person in the world.
I love the way that he lights up the faces of people with his presence alone. It is clear to anyone with eyes to see that these smiles bubble up directly from the heart. Most people become better people in his presence because he sees, respects and draws out the good that he believes lives in the heart of each and every person.
I love his ability to forgive. Never saw anything like that.
The value of PBO as a role model for our youth of all races and ethnicity really can’t be measured. It is priceless.
I love that he makes my heart swell with pride, for my president, my country, and my party.
I love the way he makes me feel after he speaks. His positivity, compassion, intelligence, sense of humor, courage, strength, coolness and the way he connects with people. He inspires me and motivates me to take action and be apart of the change I too want to see. I truly believe he does not have hate in his heart. He is good people!
the way he loves his family.[I will add, the way he looks at his wife and if you haven't noticed it, see the video below]
