Ever feel that you life is scheduled from the minute you get up until you go to bed that night, and there's no let up any of the seven days of the week?
It can be even worse for those of us who don't know how to say no occasionally for lots of good causes.
Nevertheless, a good liberal finds time to meditate and journal, even when the dance makes you dizzy.
Life is a swirling dance... around and around,
going from one task to another
Around and around and around.
Life gets less hectic
the older we get, so they say.
Check out me before you go away!
Picture taking, writing and downloading
Uploading, emailing, posting and replying.
I read poetry on my church on Sunday,
Apply for jobs and send references on Monday,
Stand with Vets against the War on Tuesday.
Then on Wednesday I show up at Green Drinks,
Prepare to doula and clean on Thursday
So I can visit the Mommy and greet my son on Friday.
On Saturday I volunteer for women abused by sex,
I'm beginning to wonder when I will get some rest.
There are grants to apply for, contacts to make
For International Day of Peace before it's too late.
I wake up at night wondering what I forgot
Was it buying food, did I pet the cat or not?
I'm told I have a job that starts soon.
But first they need a drug test
And want to see my crime record.
Before I start adding this to my day.
Yet beyond all this I want to meditate,
Take time to journal and let go
Release mind to go blank and not worry
About what's next on the daily agenda.
I'm happy being busy and oh so needed.
I just don't want to leave anything out.
So I ponder as I complete another day
Did I swirl around and dance okay?
