For the longest time, I did what I could to defend Obama. When something didn't get done, it was the Republicans this, Republicans that or Blue Dogs this, Blue Dogs that. It was only recently that I lost faith in the President. After I realized that he wasn't truly fighting for a Progressive cause. I couldn't even be certain what he was fighting for at all. Now this Huffington Post article finally reveals what I realized only recently.
Republican Opposition To Elizabeth Warren Allows White House To Duck Uncomfortable Questions
Specifically,
Last summer, during a White House meeting with first-term Senate Democrats, Sen. Bernie Sanders, an independent from Vermont, asked Obama whether he'd nominate Warren for the role.
Obama held up a half-full glass of water and told him: "That's the problem with you progressives. You see this as half-empty."
Well, we have it finally confirmed. Obama is not a Progressive. I do not even know what the President is. I do not believe he is fully a corporate tool like most of our politicians, but a man of his intelligence and stature must have realized by now what he is dealing with, right?
I wish I had the answers.
