”They're coming for your Social Security - and they'll get it too.”
George Carlin
Do these bastards know no shame? It's a rhetorical question and of course they don't. They never get tired of demonstrating that fact either. Every time I think they have reached an historic new low, they double down. And it's always the poor who suffer.
I am sick and tired of paying for tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires when millions of the rest of us can't find jobs to save our lives. How stupid is that, that anyone would expect it? How bright does one have to be to see the folly, the madness and the outrageous injustice?
And while this shameless thievery is going on, we are in turbo-drive wasting our nation's treasure on bogus, trumped up and disgustingly immoral wars. While our 'leaders' are busy plotting to take their tax cuts out of the hides of those of us least able to afford it, they are wasting trillions to slaughter innocents, bomb villagers and torture helpless prisoners.
We know of at least 100 detainees who died during interrogations at our “black sites,” many of them succumbing to the blows and mistreatment of our interrogators. There are probably many, many more whose fate has never been made public. Tens of thousands of Muslim men have passed through our clandestine detention centers without due process. “We tortured people unmercifully,” admitted retired Gen. Barry McCaffrey. “We probably murdered dozens of them …, both the armed forces and the C.I.A.”
Chris Hedges: America's Disappeared
We have fake wars coming out our ears. We have millionaires and billionaires living a ridiculously pampered existence while crying about how the poor are not doing enough to support their greed-induced, mind-boggling, idiotic, un-patriotic tax cuts. The only reason we keep taking from the poor to give to the rich is because the rich have bought off our 'leaders'. It's not because it is in any way a good idea or that it makes any sense at all.
Stop these stupid wars and make any cuts to the hideously bloated 'defense' budget. You could cut the damned thing in half and the only pain would be in the 'defense' industry. Let those people find honest work, and let the government use that money to create those jobs and make that possible. We'd still have more than enough bombs, bullets and missiles to obliterate anyone we wanted (in case anyone finds that reassuring).
Stop wasting all that money and stop stealing from the poor you shameless bastards.
(Reuters) - When President Barack Obama cited cost as a reason to bring troops home from Afghanistan, he referred to a $1 trillion price tag for America's wars.
Staggering as it is, that figure grossly underestimates the total cost of wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan to the U.S. Treasury and ignores more imposing costs yet to come, according to a study released on Wednesday.
The final bill will run at least $3.7 trillion and could reach as high as $4.4 trillion, according to the research project "Costs of War" by Brown University's Watson Institute for International Studies.

225,000 killed, no telling how many tortured, kidnapped or maimed for life, and $3.2 to 4 trillion wasted. And nobody knows where billions and billions of that money went, not Congress, not DOD, not the Pentagon nor the White House. Nobody. Nobody who's talking anyway.
Must be the season of the witch...
The Military Industrial Complex is out of control. They have usurped the power that rightfully belongs to the citizenry. They have robbed us all blind while throwing a wild orgy of death and evil across the face of the earth as if they owned it. And they have declared their intent to keep on doing so. This attack on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and all the rest is just more of the same greed-driven insanity.
We're at war in so many places across the globe that it's impossible to keep track. All for the sole purpose of making a tiny, evil and filthy-rich portion of our population even richer at the expense of virtually everyone else on the planet. And at home we're in a bloody class war and we are the targets.
There is no excuse for all of these unnecessary wars and there is no excuse for this continued war on the American people, and it's high time we quit taking it lying down. Our politicians aren't going to stand up for us. We're going to have to stand up for ourselves.
To the politicians of this land: don't you dare touch our already fragile and woefully inadequate social safety net. Don't you dare! You should all be ashamed for not giving us a social safety net worthy of the name in the first damned place. This monstrous greed and appalling selfishness at the top of our society has got to go.
Gang Of Six Plan Reduces Social Security Benefits By $1,300 A Year, Cuts Corporate Tax Rates
By Marie Diamond on Jul 20, 2011 at 11:55 am
...Liberal Democrats have pointed out the plan is far from a balanced approach, asking seniors and the working poor to bear the brunt of the pain without asking the wealthy or corporations to sacrifice at all.
Two members of the Gang of Six, Senators Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) and Kent Conrad (D-ND) were positively crowing about the conservative bona fides of their plan yesterday on MSNBC. Because the proposal will actually be scored as a $1.5 trillion tax cut under current law (with the Bush tax cuts set to expire in 2012), they are confident that House Republicans, who have vowed never to vote for a tax increase, will go for it.
