I originally published this Diary Friday night but I was asked several times to repost it today so that more people would see it.
At least I was until I lost my job in Oct 2009 and you're probably a job creator also. You see, when I had a job I was able to shop, buy clothes, go to the movies, go out to eat weekly (if not more). I would buy whatever I either wanted or needed and still have money left over. I went on vacations and enjoyed myself. Now, I only bought 1 tee shirt at $7.99 and 1 pair of cut off pants at $9.99 (both purchased in KMart) so forget about Macy's and Boutique stores and my shoes are at least 2 years old. I only go out to eat once a month to my Eating Liberally Meeting where I may only order just an appetizer or an inexpensive item on the menu, haven't been to a movie in 2 years and the only vacation I took in 2 years was a trip that had been paid for prior to my losing my job. My grocery shopping consists of a lot of pasta when it's on sale 10 for $10.00 and, as I always have done, I make my own sauce or mix it with vegetables. I didn't create big jobs but I was able to keep small merchants in business (especially at the Italian Supermarkets in my neighborhood). Now I shop very little at these stores and mostly at 2 chains besides Costco and I only buy what's on sale and ignore all the items I'd like to buy because I know they're a "treat."
I created jobs with my purchasing power but now I don't have that purchasing power and I'm sick and tired of hearing Boehner talking about "JOB CREATORS." Mr Boehner, I am that job creater but the Republicon Party has taken away my ability to do this as your members sit with their finger up your respective rear ends and refuse to create jobs. Your only interest is protecting the wealthy and you really don't give a crap about the millions like me who are out of work and waiting to hear of all those jobs you promised before the 2010 elections. Instead, from January 4, 2011 when your party took control of the House you only cared about defunding Big Bird, Planned Parenthood, FDA, EPA, etc and voting down anything Obama wanted. In fact, there have been many times when your party has proposed something, Obama said that sounds good and then your suddently decided that because Obama liked it you would now take it off the table. You have tried to defund Healthcare and break unions and if we still didn't have a majority in the Senate, you would have gotten away with this. Where were the Republicons on the deficit? Oh, I forgot the Ryan Budget and Cut, Cap and Balance which were both sellouts to your "base" and would hurt the average working class citizen. Your party bows at the feet of Grover Norquist and doesn't have the guts to tell him to take his pledge and shove it because, by doing that, your dissing your wealthy base. Does your wealthy base vote? Well, yes and no. The corporate heads do but they don't control my vote and they don't control the votes of millions of others and let me tell you we'll be out in full force November 2012. You think we're going to forget well we're not and we'll let you know this time and again for the next 16 months.
Now Mr. Boehner, you and your Tea Party Members can eat dirt because that's what I'll be eating soon if I don't get a job.
