Are the only two persons I have heard compare AUF and Hitlerjugend. I think that sais a lot. I am a member of AUF and had very close friends on Utøya during the attack. I dread the list that comes out soon, because I know I will find friends that have parished.
Glenn Beck is a joke and I often watch his show for fun. I know it's no fun for you to have as a part of your daily life. But he is a clown. Nothing more. He never manages to provoke me, because he is nothing more than a pathetic joke. But when he pisses in our face after a psychopath executes defenseless children, I get filled with rage. How dare you!?
The overwhelming solidarity we have received from accross the world really warms my heart. As we have experienced the most deadly killing spree in history by a lone gunman. That went around executing defenseless children (ages 14 and up) that thought he was a policeman that came to protect them, it seems like the whole world feels our pain. Even Libyan bloggers that are dealing with a genocide in their home countries has sent warming statements of solidarity.
But this poor piss ant excuse of a talk show host piss in our faces. AUF is the youth organisation of the governing party in Norway, Labour. The Labour party has helped create the most successful welfare state in the history of mankind, and at the same time our nation have the biggest sovereign wealth fund on the planet, because of our enormous budget surplus. Yes, we are blessed with our resources and our luck in geographic location. But others have been so as well.
Where we are today is not mere luck. It is sound policies and above all, a political system and culture that brings cooperation between parties and politicians with very different standpoints, policies and ideologies. Any politician that has talked about other politician the way right wing republicans in the US and especially Tea Partiers do, would have been politically dead in Norway. And Glenn Beck is actually quite known in Norway, because everyone sees him as a clown. Everyone across the political spectrum.
But the youth organization of the governing political party in Norway, the party of Prime Minister Stoltenberg, the party that has sent Norwegian forces to Afghanistan to fight alongside our American allies - Hitlerjugend. How dare you, you clown!? You f#¤%ing fascist!
Here is a little more on the people Glenn Beck calles Hitlerjugend:
Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, leader of Labour and former leader of AUF, in his first speech on the night of the attack:
"When faced with terror and hate, we will retaliate with more democracy and more openness"
Yes, that's pretty Hitlerjugentish.. This one even more:
Member of Parliment Stine Renate Håheim, member of AUF, where on the island but escaped alive. On CNN same evening:
"If one man can show that much hatred, imagine how much love we can show together."
I think Beck should listen to a real man, with some real brains that said the following:
"Peaceful little Norway is showing the world how one handles this kind of situations. Right now I rank Norway as the greatest country in the world, I have never seen anything like this." - President Barack Obama
Thank you! That is how you speak to a nation stricken into our deepest sole with grief.
Guess how many have been killed in the name of Islam in Norway. Ever. None. But a man smitten with the same islamophobick venom as you spread every day, Beck, killed almost 100 Norwegians the other day. So why don't you show some respect for the victims and keep your useless face away from this altogether.
I would like to thank you for all the sympathy and solidarity that the American people have shown, that your political leaders have shown and that you on DailyKos continue to show. One easy and direct way you can show your solidarity is to hold hands on this link:

Thank you.
Tue Jul 26, 2011 at 4:31 AM PT: Thank you so much for the warm thoughts, support and recs! I'm really sorry that I could not stick around after I wrote this and take part in the discussion. It was in the middle of the Norwegian night and needed to try to sleep.
The names and pictures are now coming out. It would have been so easy for hate to take over our little society. I have always supported Prime Minister Stoltenberg, but the way he has led us through this horror is truly beyond what I thought would be possible.
The natural reaction to all this horror, is hate. I feel it my self. I hate the killer so so very much. But Stoltenberg has shown us that this is not about him. This is about those that are killed. And about compassion. So when people flooded the streets all over Norway yesterday, we showed the world that we will not let hate, violence or tragedy change our way of living or our way of thinking.
I'm proud of our police that walk the streets without weapons and I'm proud of our government and way of life. Glenn Beck is not worth a fragment of a second. But when I saw his comments, I was enraged. I shall never think about it again, because I no longer find the clown funny. Just irrelevant.
