Update - it's been pointed out that the good Doctor is actually a staunch fiscal conservative, so I'm open-lettering the wrong man it seems.
I want someone to shake this nation by the lapels, though, and cut through the haze..
And unless they're going to immolate themselves (which I don't advocate) I tend to think they'll need to already have a media profile.
I know it would be cool if it all rose up from the grassroots. But I don't see that happening. Any suggestions on who might be brave enough to lay their reputation on the line and do something a bit crazy?
Dear Howard,
Thank you for all you have done for this country, and for still being active
http://www.dailykos.com/...!
But we need more. We need the fire. We need
What I want to know is...
[and]
You have the power.
Howard, we could really use someone like you right now - your ability to channel righteous indignation at lies and unspoken truths, your passion.
I don't mean that you should run again; I wouldn't wish that on you. But, if you can stomach it, if you haven't given your wife a blood oath that you never again will (and maybe even if you have), I believe the nation would benefit if you would step into the storm....
You of all people could help to burn away some of the BS, help inspire others to take up a bolder & more daring leadership role. We need to make it clear, in unmistakable, feet-on-the-ground terms, that we will hold Washington accountable for this reckless idiocy: the Republicans for their greed, the media for their refusal to tell the simple truth, and the Democrats for abandoning all principle.
We need an American Spring.
Whatever you are doing at this moment, Dr. Dean, I wish you all the best and I thank you again. Whatever you can do this time around, here's me, asking.
