The Democrat ransom payment ensures that the country will continue to pay its bills, but the country is a blood-drained shadow of its former self. Without the capacity to raise any more money, the United States will just be able to hang on. There won't be any rioting, fist-shaking or even harsh words from the defeated.
The people who control the money (the "job-creators"-created in foreign countries) now know that the middle class is done, and they will focus on sending their investment money overseas. They also will turn their marketing in that direction, as there will be no money to spur demand in the US. I forget who should take the credit for pointing out that "demand" is what creates jobs, but they were right on the money.
With demand reduced, the money folks will pretend that they have no responsibility to help this society succeed. They will help some other society to succeed, at least until that society asks them to bear some of the load. Maybe they will be back in a few decades.
We bailed them out, hoping they would be able to help us out. Sorry, Charlie.
