I should be in bed, but my wife and I got back from watching MSNBC's Ed Show live in downtown Madison and I'm still jacked up. It was incredible. I was nervous as a cat all day today, but a visit with Ed and a couple thousand Badgers cured all that.
I won't say much, just that if any national Democrats are interested in gaining permanent, rock-solid support, just look at the photos below. The "Wisconsin 14" Senators who fled the state of Wisconsin to delay Scott Walker's radical agenda are like rock stars, as the nice teacher from DeForest, Wisconsin standing next to me put it. All they did was stand up for middle class working families and now, well now they are legends.
The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades sent members like these guys from all over the United States this week to help with canvassing. I heard about Hawaii, Washington, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and I'm sure there were more...
No rally is complete without red heart balloons...
Senator Bob Jauch was the first of the 14 to arrive, and he took more pictures than I did...
Senator Lena Taylor (on the right) poses with a Madison teacher...
Senator mark Miller greets supporters...
Remember my friends from the IUPAT? Here is John Nichols from The Nation autographing their poster...
Senator Julie Lassa, rock star (sorry I couldn't get a better photo, Julie)...
The nation's longest serving state legislator, Senator Fred Risser signing autographs...
My state senator, Jon Erpenbach...
Big Ed arrives...
It's hard to read, but my lucky recall hat now sports autographs from Jon Erpenbach and Lena Taylor...
A special hello to Daily Kos blogger blksista, who happened to be walking by when I was asking the painters union guys if I could post their picture on Daily Kos. She overheard and was kind enough to stop and introduce herself to my wife and me. Big hugs ensued. What a great night!
