Busy running to get from work to the grocery store to fix dinner to get the almost man teen from band camp and home again! I sometimes wonder if I'll ever have time for me. It is good to finally sit and have a glass of wine with my whining-It's too hot, I'm tired, My mother-in-law might be released before she is ready, The kids at school were wild today, My daughter is being too sarcastic for words, My son doesn't communicate any more, My husband......Well, he's a Republican! And to top it off, (as if him being a conservative Republican isn't enough) I come over to check out the Orange website that gives me strength to keep on being the loving Liberal that I am and find a whole bunch of whining instead!

Let's see...There are the Obama versus no Obama factions. There are the people of Belief versus people of Unbelief. Then the "You are a troll-no! You are a troll!" grade-school playground banter.

I get annoyed and think, "Come on people! Aren't we here to work toward electing Democrats?? Aren't we supposed to be working for the same goals of health care, education, LGBT rights, peace, overcoming the idiot state elections, unions, Veteran's benefits, Civil rights, Unemployment benefits--and on and on.....!!!!" I feel like whining some more!

Until-there it is! The message that makes sense: Live long, fight hard and prosper! It is bittersweet, though. Meteor Blades is taking a leave of absence, doubtful if he will return-he says. His words resonate with the way I have felt for a while-the voice of reason:

"In fact, much more would be accomplished if just half the energy that goes into this internal battling went into the real activism that we see recounted or proposed in diaries every day. Some of the viciousness would probably be undermined if the "Preview" comment button were replaced by one saying "THINK!" "

He will be missed. I miss him already. Can we all-PLEASE!-take his words to heart? I'm done whining, and now I need to get moving and doing.

How about the rest of you? Do we pitch in and work together? Come in and join us. This is an open thread.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

to get better. I know that sounds really corny, but it is true. If we do anything here at this site, we need to take MB"s words to heart. We are a team.

I feel the tone of your comment, and can't say that I haven't felt the same way, but if this doesn't wake up the crew; I don't know what can!

It is time to put on our big boy/big girl pants and get on with the job at hand.

for years, but this latest battle of the bilge has made me pretty angry.  As I progressive liberal populist (say that three times quick) I have collectively been called more names than I would like to try to repeat in a lot of highly recommended diaries and comments.

How do we come together when what we once would have considered troll diaries get to the wreck list daily?

          of Tea Party rule--a nightmare!

That alone should be a slap in the face for us to come together.

If that doesn't do it, then then a more positive exercise would be to imagine a future for our children. What do we want? How will we succeed?

This is too important for people's egos to get in the way. We have to be the ones to work it out now, so our kids don't lose.

here is where I  used to go to hone my arguments and recharge.  I don't think pie fighting here is going to make us lose, but it definitely doesn't do anything  for  my energy levels.

today. As a good SuperHero, I went to my local Moveon.org Jobs, Not Cuts rally. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't know most of the people who came (I know our regular peace protesters, for example, who were there too). I signed up to help the local council here.

I hope everyone else participated as best they could. Our SuperHeroes in Wisconsin did great, electing two Dem senators in heavily gerrymandered R districts; our equality SuperHeroes pushed getting sports more equal by encouraging the Mets and White Sox to make It Gets Better videos; and praise the Gods, our local Democratic Party was part of the rally, too, so maybe some Dems are waking up and smelling the cafe!

Do not despair. We are working, organizing, and I believe we will save America.

This isn't the only site where I hang out with Leftists, and they're all on major downers lately. I try so hard to keep people motivated and doing something to make the world better, because if we don't, no one else will.

We have to. Take some time off occasionally, of course, but keep acting to improve our world.

I'll try to do my part. I got my North Carolina driver's license the other day and registered to vote. I'm certainly planning on being active in politics down here to the best of my ability.

It is sad to see some one as dedicated as Meteor Blades going away. I too get tired of all the in fighting and name calling over at Orange and find myself not going there nearly as much as I use to.

I had a real bad night last night and finally got to sleep around six AM only to wake up a couple hours later with a sinus infection. Fortunately I have some antibiotics since I don't have a doctor down here.

I'm going to take a shower and use the "Moon Petal Musk" fragrance that this picture inspired. I hope that a serene picture can lighten your heart a bit Joanne. I'll make a deal with you. You hang in there and I will too. Anyone else want to hang with us?

My children's futures are too important to loose to petty squabbling. I'm glad you are on board!

Moon Petal Musk sounds intriguing. I hope it helps you rest and get a good night's sleep. Take care of yourself!

The picture is truly amazing and certainly does help to soothe.

      Thank you!
