Effective Monday August 15th in the Twin Cities, Clear Channel Communications
relegated its FM local conservative radio format to AM. The former right wing talk show format KTLK 100.3 was switched from FM to AM 1130 and replaced 100.3 with KFAN, an all sports channel, formerly located at AM 1130 and owned additionally by Clear Channel.
What this means is that someone wanting their daily work fix of listening to Rush, Hannity, Beck, or Jason Lewis may need a good AM radio that will take AM signals in buildings. Most buildings I have worked at could not pick up AM 1130. This could leave thousands of zombie righties with no daily talking points or no wacked out conspiracy theories to combat liberal facts.
By virtue of 100.3's Facebook page many Righties are hopping mad at this.
Comments on Facebook include "epic fail, can't get station, worse decision ever....."

For clarification, the former Rightie Talk format will still be available on a low wattage translator station at 102.5 FM. This will be sandwiched between two higher wattage stations at 102.1 (Country) and 102.9 (Soft Hits). However, the FCC has not approved the conversion of the FM translator station yet. When it becomes available, good luck locating this with a rotary FM dial.
I would be interested to know if Clear Channel is changing any other right wing formats across the country.
