Hey, folks, guess who's coming to Military City, USA?
Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell. He will be speaking to The Chamber of Commerce. And, better yet, Senator Cornyn may accompany him.
Tuesday, August 30th, 11:00 AM
Westin Riverwalk hotel, 420 W. Market Str.
San Antonio, TX 78205
And guess who is planning a big old Texas style welcome?
MoveOn.org plus a few other friendly Progressive Organizations.
We need you to spread the word. Republicans think they own Military City, USA (yep, that is a nickname for San Antonio, home to one of the largest military populations in the United States). You may not live in Texas, but someone you know might. It's a big state, but the drive might be worth it... a little Riverwalk, a little Rudy's BBQ, a little political action... what more can you ask for? Maybe a few friends to join you for the day!
I think this one, with both McConnel and Cornyn, would be sure to make NATIONAL NEWS if the crowd is big enough.
Let us know about any other political action going on in your neck of the woods.
Today, Lefty Coaster let us know about a Military Widow confronts Donald Rumsfeld at Tacoma book signing
Earlier this week, DaNang65 shared Wall Street running out of suckers by gjohnsit. It's a must read for those of us visiting Congressmen and asking them to preserve the military retirement as is.
And onceasgt gives us an update about her Visit with my Congressman in Pennsylvania. BTW, I just figured out her name - once a sgt :)
And Fed up Fed tells us that Senator Murray Responds to My Letter.
And I am still collecting the names of potential MCM lobbyists - both military and civilian - in this survey.
And those are just the highlights. As usual, check out our great diaries at the MCM!
Do me a favor - help spread the above news about the San Antonio Rally. Seriously. Recommend the diary and join the conversation below - it will bring in more people. Tweet and Facebook -, you never know which of your friends might know someone in Texas. As they say in Argentina - the world is a handkerchief.
Thanks! Hope the rest of the week is a great one!
