Like any community, the DKos community is a complex thing. I love the richness of offerings that have blossomed under the initial umbrella calling for "more and better Democrats." I learn a lot here, and don't comment on the majority of diaries I read. For a lot of reasons. But mostly because I don't feel I need to insert myself - my voice, my ego, my opinion - into every conversation that takes place.
I am deeply saddened by the "purge," and am disturbed by the spirit in which it was entered. I believe the moderation could have been done more thoughtfully and generously - more "moderately" - with a greater emphasis on reinforcing community and civility.
I'll be back, reading and learning, Monday week. I'll miss those of the Kos community who have moved on.
