I'm not sure which is harder to grasp.
The idea that there is such a thing as the Beverly Hills Tea Party.
Or trying to determine which planet Pat Boone is from.
For those of you too young to know or care about who Pat Boone is (aren't you lucky), he is what used to be known as a crooner. He had a bunch of hits back in the 50s that nobody today gives a damn about. Nuff said.
Fast forward to the present, a time in which Pat Boone is as relevant as duck tail haircuts and big fins on Cadillacs.
Boone has gone from croon to loon, as in right-wing. Of course, he's been that way for quite a while, but he's getting worse.
Judge by his latest babbling:
Speaking to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Beverly Hills tea party member said he interacted with Kenyans a while back who claim Obama was born in Kenya.
“I was in Kenya a year and a half ago and everybody said, ‘You know, he was born here,”’ Boone told the northern California-based publication at a California GOP event last week.
The singer argued that the president is putting millions towards “hiding all of his records” and that esteemed “experts” have dubbed the certificate a fake.
“Why else would he be hiding all of his records? He’s spending millions of dollars so that we do not have his records,” Boone said. “And experts have already looked at and been able to verify that this long-form document is a fraud… But the media ignores it… A total fraud. A photo-shopped fraud.”
I'm totally impressed that Pat Boone has even heard of Photoshop.
And I am also impressed that he "interacted with Kenyans." I have no doubt that during his trip he hired several to cook, clean and drive for him.
Of course, if Obama's birth certificate can be photoshopped, so can Boone's. Can Boone prove that his birth certificate isn't a fraud and that he wasn't really born on the fifth planet orbiting Aldebaran?
The only reason I bring that up is because I vaguely recall reading something years ago about his grandmother saying that on the night he was conceived (immaculately, of course) his mother happened to be looking up at the stars.
Anyway .... I just had to look further into this concept of a Beverly Hills Tea Party. They had a rally recently at which Boone and others spoke.
In addition to speakers such as Pat Boone, Republican Rep. Tom McClintock, and talk show host Hugh Hewitt, rally organizers invited two African-Americans and two Orthodox Jews to speak at the rally in order to combat Indiana Democratic Rep. Andre Carson’s claim that Tea Party activists are racists.
I guess they needed two black people instead of just one in order to prove that they were not racists. But were they also required to park cars and serve drinks? Because I don't think it counts if you include the hired help.
If you just have one black guy there, you can be accused of tokenism. But two black guys apparently immunizes you from charges of racism.
Yep, two is the magic number. Because if you have three black guys there then you might have a gang.
And it's a good thing they went out and found a couple of Orthodox Jews, because a lot of those Reform Jews are liberal, socialist, Kenyan-loving Democrats.
Oh .... and in case you are wondering, the Beverly Hills Tea Party is absolutely a legit organization.
They even have a website and their own Facebook page. How much more authentic can you get?
