CNN, the official channel of we'll leave it right there covered #OccupyWallStreet for the first time today. Remember when CNN got burned by Jon Stewart for being innocuous drivel that glosses over facts to sell you corporate spin? Now watch as CNN plays the "Why are they there? What do they want?" card and the "Why do they have no leader?" questions (duh, we're not a monolith) that are so easy to answer it is ridiculous, and then just when things start getting good, somehow CNN loses the connection! It's like a high school AV club down there, apparently.
CNN, the news you need to know, 13 days after it happens, and then left in a open question without relevant facts before we leave it there.
THERE is where it just starts getting good!
Of course, if one of the geniuses at the colossal 24 hour a day media titan CNN knew how to use teh Google or the Youtubes, maybe they could have shown their viewers footage of this while they reconnected with Dr. West.
But instead they left it there.
Dear peasants, pay no attention to the Democratic revolution going on outside your window, just keep watching tv, listening to radio, buying crap and drinking Pepsi, the job creators at CNN will take things from here . . .
and then they'll leave it there.
Pathetic
It figures, after Fox and MSNBC show up, sad sack CNN is last to the show, and then after asking inane questions that they could easily answer themselves with a little research they waste our time and lose the connection like a bunch of amateurs. When people ask me what job I do I should tell them the job CNN refuses to do, journalistic research and fact checking.
13 days in, and I hear BIG union support and labor support is on the way. Philadelphia reportedly had 300 volunteers show up at their first #OccupyPhilly organizing meeting. 300, at their first meeting.
The crowd keeps getting bigger. More care packages keep coming in. The corporate media continues to be a wholly failed institution that has fallen under corporate capture at the hands of the moneyed interests, but as rain falls overhead we remain, unified in support for each other and in defiance of the corrupt power that opposes us.
If you'd like to help out the protests directly . . .
1. Get this message out there. Get the word out about these protests of Wall Street's greed to everyone you know. Raise awareness, even if it is via word of mouth, every little bit helps.
2. Use the twitter hashtags #OccupyWallStreet and follow on facebook and twitter accounts related to the ongoing protests. Help put this video on your facebook pageand any other social media that you use. Make it viral.
3. Make a donation to WeAreTheOther99%'s media fund. They need funding to stay active, and without huge corporate interests backing us up like the Teabaggers have, the only way this works is with your small donations.
4. Go to OccupyWallSt.org and make a donation to our General Fund to support the ongoing protests.
5. To send care packages to Liberty Square, go to OccupyWallSt.org for more information.
6. Find out if there will be an #Occupation event in your neighborhood and participate and contribute there if you can't come to NYC.
7. Be a better person to your brothers and sisters around you.
