That's right. Thanks to some friends here at DailyKos who have given me their frequent flyer miles, I'm going to be doing some traveling starting this Weds. I want to see how people across America are dealing with this economic disaster wrought by the wealthiest 1% firsthand. I also want to learn how people in other cities are handling political and police opposition to their occupations, so that we can take their successes and repeat them on a national scale.
So, here is my itinerary.
Oct Weds 19 - Boston (leave Weds night)
Oct Thurs 20 & Friday 21 NYC
Oct Sat 22 - Madison, Wisconsin
Oct Sun 23 & Mon 24 - Seattle, Washington
Oct Tues 25 & Weds 26 - Denver, Colorado
Oct Thurs 27 - Chicago, Illinois
Oct Fri 28 & Sat 29 - Washington D.C.
I apologize for the lack of southern cities on my travel list, hopefully my next trip will lead me through warmer climates.
I hope to see you there, if you live in these cities reach out to me here in the comments or on twitter and facebook so we can meet up. If you have a friendly couch or a lift to and from the airport, it would be appreciated.
After all of the action on Saturday at Times Square and the last few weeks I needed a rest, so yesterday I slept in to recharge the batteries and think. I realize that we are a vast nation with millions of stories to tell about the 99%. These stories need to be told.
So I'm hitting the road. Have pen and laptop, will travel. I want to take this conversation with about the needs of the 99% further. This is the conversation we should have had years ago, it is long overdue.
Peace and love to you and yours
For more info
1. Get this message out there. Get the word out about these protests of Wall Street's greed to everyone you know. Raise awareness, even if it is via word of mouth, every little bit helps.
2. Use the twitter hashtags #OccupyWallStreet and follow us on facebook and twitter accounts related to the ongoing protests. Help put this video on your facebook pageand any other social media that you use. Make it viral.
3. Make a donation to WeAreTheOther99%'s media fund. They need funding to stay active, and without huge corporate interests backing us up like the Teabaggers have, the only way this works is with your small donations.
