Dear Fellow Kossacks:
Here's an idea.
Maybe we can call a truce today -- JUST TODAY -- among all Kossacks and give our beleaguered President a couple e-fist bumps?
Even as I concede Obama has made some disappointing and (even in some cases, angering) decisions, I have grown despondent reading diary after diary hammering the man. Sometimes I have to walk away from the Inetertubes, the climate here has gotten so negative and hopeless. But today's a good day for all of us. I mean, right?
Let's recap:
1. Osama = gone.
2. Gaddafi = gone. (And with limited US risk/exposure, no American deaths, US goodwill on the rise in Libya.)
3. And now, the Iraq War = ending for good.
I mean, even the most ardent anti-Obama, hard-core left wing progressive must kinda be happy about this, right? I mean, this is good, right?
I know, I know: Everything's happening too slowly. Obama's waffled on plenty of important things. He's made missteps all over the place.
But the man has faced some serious challenges. And he's still managed to rise above it all to deliver some great victories in his first three years. And meanwhile, lucky for him, we have #OWS pushing forcefully but peacefully from the left for the elusive economic justice and equality that's so hard to achieve from within our broken political system.
So, maybe today -- JUST TODAY -- we can set aside our differences, Kossacks, and say "good job, Mr. Pres."?
