Earlier this week, Tea Party Nation's Melissa Brookstone posted a call for business owners to stop hiring in a deliberate attempt to hurt Obama (diaried here. Well, predictably it touched off a firestorm. Keith Olbermann named her the third worst person in the world on Wednesday's show, for starters.
Now Tea Party Nation is in damage control mode. Today, teabagger-in-chief Judson Phillips writes that the brickbats being thrown at Brookstone are trying to stifle free speech.
Melissa’s blog and the reaction to it, shows the difference between liberals and those who think liberty is a good idea. Liberals believe there is only one idea, namely their idea. Anything or anyone who disagrees with them must be shut down. No unauthorized ideas are permitted.
We conservatives believe in the free market of ideas. We are not afraid of ideas. We debate ideas. We like ideas. Liberals do not like ideas because they are threatened by them.
This from someone who thinks Muslims shouldn't be allowed to hold office, and who helped organize rallies in which congresscritters were shouted down.
Brookstone herself made a hand-wringing post claiming that the big, bad libruls are ganging up on her.
But of course the response from the left has been what it always is from them – to take things out of context, spin, lie and smear with ad hominem attacks, and I've born the brunt of that for the last two days.
Um, Heather? When you claim Obama has seized dictatorial powers with no evidence whatsoever to support it, you better expect to get slammed.
