Why is Twitter such a big deal?
Well, #Occupy is understood around the freaking globe, in less than 30 days.
That's pretty impressive.
Then there are all the other daily bits and pieces of data which flow past your eyes whilst your Twitterstream ebbs and flows with the Tweets of the bazillion twittering monkeys who inhabit Twitter today.
Things like what you'll find below the Fleur-de-kos.
So today's AngieinWAState's Twitterfeed was alive on fire with links to #OccupyOakland. If you don't know why, search DailyKos for OccupyOakland and see what you discover.
Or you could watch this video, a very nice virtual bookend to the second video, which you've already seen (unless you just poked your pie-hole out of a cave for the first time since Osama bin Laden hid in his first cave) ...
OccupyOaklander tells the OPD (Oakland Police Dept) the bald-faced Truth
The video poster is apparently the one speaking, because this is what you'll read on YouTube at the video, posted by the one who uploaded it:
Basically, I was really mad. Oakland Police had already tear gassed the peaceful crowd twice. The only persons that were being violent were the Cops. I felt the need to inform them of my rights. I felt the need to inform them of their own stupidity. I felt the need to inform them of the corruption of the system in which we all live. So I did. I would once again like to thank OPD for encouraging the thousands of Oaklanders that came out to join the Occupy movement.
The video it bookends so well?
That would be this one, of Sgt. Shamar Thomas in New York City of early in October 2011:
But that's not what moved me to write a diary tonight, as precious and important as both of these events and the Movement they are part of, OWS, is to me and the rest of my fellow 99%ers.
As I was reading my Twitterfeed, I noticed that someone I'd like to follow had shown up in my Twitter recommended 'Follow's. This is a list that Twitter makes for you every single moment of every day, offering up those whom those you already follow are, themselves, following. It's sort of like how Google puts ads they think you will be interested in up on your personal computer screen.
So, there I was, all #Occupy oriented, when what pops up on my referral list, but @benmasel.
Now, for those of you who are uninformed as to whom that is, or rather more precisely, whom that was, please see this diary by Meteor Blades.
If I have to explain whom that is, sorry, I'm short on time, gotta run and pick up my granddaughter, search his UID "Meteor Blades" on Google or just ask practically any Kossack, they'll be happy to tell you about Tim.
:)
So, to bring us full circle, the Twitter is a real-time (actual news and not just "fair and unbalanced gossip") information stream - and also a collective reminder, for those of us who've passed out of this life, but not out of the minds of those still left behind to work for what is right and necessary.
Ben Masel would have been out there, full-on, Occupying Madison, or somewhere in Wisconson...
so, in memory of Ben (whom I never had the honor of meeting in real life), and Scott Olson (recent victim of police brutality in the #OccupyOakland movement) and everyone who is working for a better tomorrow for all the 99%ers at home and abroad...

The question is: To Tweet, or not to Tweet
The answer is: Tweet, #Occupy and take part in Taking our Future Back from the 1%.
