It's your classic bad news/good news story. Three guesses which side is promoting the Green Energy witch hunt ...
GOP Rep. Gibson Celebrates Solar Energy Initiative, Doesn’t Acknowledge Funds From Obama Programs
by Lee Fang, thinkprogress -- Oct 26, 2011
Republicans are circling the wagons to destroy green collar jobs and the clean energy industry. The GOP seized the Solyndra controversy as an excuse to cut all clean energy loan programs. The inquisition has even led to the suspension of a program that employed veterans in clean energy jobs.
Talk about over reaction. If Solar got 1/2 the subsidies as Big Oil, it would be no contest -- but instead they get about 1/7-th of that amount ... soon to be nothing, if the GOP gets their way.

Well the Obama Administration is sending DOE Secretary to the GOP inquisition, to explain to these pro-business maroons that "sometimes" new start-up businesses fail. That is kind of reason for the Govt Guarantee programs, in the first place ... in case they forgot ...
Solyndra probe to hear from Energy's Chu on Nov. 17
by Roberta Rampton, Reuters -- Oct 27, 2011
WASHINGTON, (Reuters) - Energy Secretary Steven Chu will testify on Nov. 17 to a group of lawmakers investigating his department's $535 million loan guarantee to Solyndra, a solar panel company that has since filed for bankruptcy and was raided by the FBI.
Chu has been a passionate advocate of government help for renewable energy companies trying to commercialize new technologies. Solyndra was the much-touted first recipient of a "green energy" loan when President Barack Obama's administration took office.
[...]
The Republican leading the investigation said the committee wants to know why the Energy Department ignored warnings about Solyndra before granting the loan, and then agreed to a restructuring plan that ranked taxpayers' investment behind some private investors in the event of bankruptcy.
If one Solar Company is bad, then they must all be bad -- is that the reasoning GOP?
Well, it's good to see the Obama Administration, flexing their newly discovered executive power again -- but this time on this Green Energy front:
Obama admin renews push for solar energy in West
by Matthew Daly, Associated Press –- Oct 27, 2011
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration on Thursday identified 17 sites in six Western states as prime candidates for solar energy projects on public lands, continuing a push for solar power despite the high-profile bankruptcy of a solar panel maker that received a half-billion dollar federal loan.
Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said the latest "Solar Energy Zones" refine and improve on a draft released in December that identified two dozen areas in California, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona.
[...]
Salazar called the announcement a "giant step forward" as officials step up efforts to promote solar power, particularly in the West.
Finally!
What were they waiting for? GOP-Hell to freeze over?
Here's a hint: it's time to break out those Solar Collectors and Mirrors. The GOP has already cast its stonewalling chill upon the land.
Maybe if the Govt was buying these Solar panels in bulk already (as initially planned), just maybe Solyndra would still be in business, eh.
