There were several hundred people at the state capitol in Oklahoma City today. They held an event at about noon 'til 2pm in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street group in that is encamped in Kerr Park in downdown Oklahoma City.
The OWS-OKC marched 2 miles from their downtown encampment to the state capitol today. Of course the major statewide newspaper (ultra-conservative) headquartered in Oklhoma City didn't cover it. Neither did any of the other media, TV stations, or talk radio stations. However, a minor state newspaper, the Edmond Sun, covered it, with pictures. They probably hope that if they don't cover it then the DFH will just go away. Of course the people in solidarity is generally not hippies, they are working people that are tired of getting screwed.
Nathaniel "Batch" Batchelder, leader of the local Peace House was there, as was James N. Branum, local Green Party attorney and GI Rights Hotline advocate.
