In fact maybe the idea that we can change it is either folly or a part of the system's self organization. The lesson of the 2008 election has yet to be understood. The people spoke pretty clearly in that election yet any change they got was in another direction. I see people who want to elect "their candidate" salivating as they watch OWS flex muscles they never realized we had among our people. Who are the conspirators behind OWS? Who decided that now is the time for this movement to arise? Who decides to spread it throughout the country and then throughout the world? Who decided to have Arab Nations show the way beforehand? Look at the rest for more on these questions.
If you think you have answers to any of those questions you are pretty arrogant in my eyes. The 2008 election put the icing on a cake that was baked in 2000 and has been cooking for some time. The ability of elections to change the system is nil. What has changed is the growing realization that elections do not change the system. They, in fact, stabilize it and prevent change.
Does that mean that Obama fooled us? Does that mean that the stealing of the 2000 election was a set up that the democrats went along with? Conspiracy theories of that magnitude are the stuff bad fiction comes from. What is pushing the system to move in the direction it seems to be moving? Who is behind it? We have crooked billionaires believing their immense wealth will do what they hope to see happen. We have Tea Party types who are motivated by a mix of libertarianism, anarchism, religion and whatever else. And we have part of the mythical "left" discussing elections at a time when elections are clearly useless as a force for change.
Oh and the grand idea that the republicans can take over if they merely disenfranchise enough of the opposition by various ploys including redistricting. Where are these people's minds? What don't they not see about both the Tea party and OWS that seems so obvious? The system has failed folks. It is Humpty Dumpty or worse and all the Kings horses and all the King's men won't get it into any form they are wishing for.
Every time I hear the hollow words about "economic recovery" I cringe! If economic recovery means more consumerism, more energy waste, more poison into the soil and water to show up not just when it is put there but for generations after that, then we are in dreamland or worse! The charts and diagrams showing that the economy pumps livelihood from the most needy to the fat and greedy make that an even worse scenario.
The OWS movement will not go away. The march towards self destruction will end eventually. Either we change our behavior or we watch as we have it changed for us. There are no spectators in this drama. It is all inclusive. You do not need a weatherman to see which way the wind is blowing. The times they ARE a'changin'. So which side are you on brothers and sisters? Do we make it happen or at least try our best or do we watch?
