In 1998, President William Jefferson Clinton was impeached on charges of Obstruction of Justice and Perjury. Although the Senate acquitted him some months later, history was made. Bill Clinton became the second President of the United States to have ever been impeached.
Clearly, the President should have been impeached because, after all, he had sexual relations with Paula Jones and Monica Lewinski and committed perjury by lying about it under oath in order to himself some embarrassment.
Surely, that perjury was so outrageous, that they had to also deem his actions an obstruction of justice.
And certainly, that obstruction must also be impeachable so it had have fallen under the category of a high crime (or was it a high misdemeanor? Hmmmmmm).
I think it reasonable to deduce that had Mr. Clinton conducted himself in the very same manner except being under oath, his impeachment would not / could not have happened. There's something very sacred about an oath and violation thereof.
The Grover Norquist no tax pledge !
Taxpayer Protection Pledge
I, _____, pledge to the taxpayers of the __ district
of the state of___, and to the American people that I will:
ONE, oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax
rates for individuals and/or businesses; and
TWO, oppose any net reduction or elimination of deductions and
credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates
After viewing a recent edition of MSNBC's, Lawrence O'Donnell's, "The Last Word, it occurred to me that not only is the signing of the pledge un-american, can and should be considered a high crime (or misdemeanor) and, therefore those those signed it and followed through by never voting to raise taxes ought to be impeached.
O'Donnell explains:

The Norquist pledge is grotesquely un-American because a member of Congress swears himself to, in effect, be incapable of truly taking the Oath of Office because by taking the Norquist pledge, that member of Congress is saying 'I promise to never, under any circumstances, support and defend the Constitutional power to tax.'
And there you have it. If lying under oath (perjury) is so bad that it's an impeachable offense so much so that it was made into 2 charges for Bill Clinton (the second being obstruction of justice), then isn't reasonable to say that a total disregard for the Congressional oath to honor another oath to some un-elected lobbyist as egregious? While
I say we start a movement to impeach all those in Congress who has signed that pledge. You say it will never happen? well, I never thought I'd see a Black President in my lifetime and here we are.
Let's impeach those bastards and finally get a do "something" congress.
