Yesterday I met Stephen Colbert. I had no idea that hours later our little city at Zuccotti park would be destroyed.
As I sat in the studio audience, Colbert asked me if I was planning on Occupying The Colbert Report. I told him no, and I asked him how to handle bears while we camp out. He had a short answer; "Run like hell".
Well, I won't run from bears, and I sure as hell won't run from Mayor Moneybags Bloomberg or his police force.
We see it happening now nationwide, these corrupt Mayors like Bloomberg and Quan, the entire corrupt political and financial establishment REFUSES to let Occupy Wall Street protesters have this honest conversation about our future. Like fools, these people have decided to evict democracy when it doesn't suit their purposes under the guise of safety or some other nonsense.
Let me be one of many who will tell you that we aren't going away that easily.
I will protest when and where I damn well please. I have the constitution in my pocket. That is my permit.
And I have a promise to the corrupt mayors, the corrupt politicians and the corrupt special interests who buy them, you just made us more determined than ever, you just gave Occupy Wall Street more motivation than we have ever had before, and we are NOT going away. Our problems are not going away, the corruption isn't going away, and neither are we.
So expect BIGGER marches.
Expect more protests and even more people than ever.
Frankly, they picked the wrong over-educated restaurant manager to f*** with.
A lil more below the fold
On Wednesday I fly out to Chicago to tape the Rosie O'Donnell show on Thursday. It will air on Friday. When I am there, I will have something to say, but first I have a message to all the corrupt Democratic Mayors, to all of the corrupt establishment politicians in the GOP and the Democratic party, to all of the corrupt Oligarchs like Bloomberg and their crony special interest groups, and this is also a message to all of the Americans who know they are being screwed in this corrupt, bribe plagued neo-fuedal corporate wasteland that used to be a democracy until the lobbyists turned it into a dollarocracy.
The message is simple; change is coming. Reform is coming whether you like it or not, Lord Bloomberg.
This conversation about our future will NOT be stopped, not by an Oligarch like Bloomberg or Rupert Murdoch, not by a petty politician like Mayor Quan or anybody else.
You won't get rid of us peasants that easily. These are OUR streets, you just live on the penthouse above it. You can own your penthouse but you can't own the streets.
UPDATED: A comment from the venerable Dallasdoc that should be seen by one and all.
Occupy courtrooms (1+ / 0-)
Courts have to be one of the next venues for direct action in this movement. The illegal, unconstitutional actions of mayors and police departments in city after city demand challenges in the courts. Let the courts declare whose side they're on, and we'll take it from there.
My latest donation has gone to the ACLU, to support their lawsuit against the City of Oakland. I'm too old and too wrapped up in work to camp out, but I'm there on weekends and will support the effort with the money I'm still making.
You can buy the mayors office or you can buy other politicians, but you can't own We The People, no one can, and you can drive us away with force but you can't make us go away, these are OUR cities, these are OUR streets. You just swatted a hornet's nest. You have no idea what you are doing, and all of your ill gotten money isn't going to make us go away.
You brought riot gear because you wanted to have a riot. We want PEACE.
We can't afford lobbyists to bribe you.
We are many, you are few.
We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.

6:03 AM PT: Wow, I just found out that Tool, my kossack brother and a bunch of other friends have been there all night through the whole raid. I am meeting him up ASAP and can't imagine the article he is going to write about what actually happened. Unreal.
And on that note, F*** YOU MAYOR BLOOMBERG for putting the health of my friends at risk. I say we MARCH!
