Mrs. Hive went in for a "routine" procedure last Friday (a gastric bypass), and everything seemed fine at first - she came home on Sunday evening.
Last Wednesday, I had to rush her back to the UVA Medical Center ER due to uncontrolled nausea. After waiting 24 hours in the ER she was finally admitted. There was a delay in getting her an MRI, and the surgical team wanted to do a laparoscopic exploratory procedure. They found some issues and a second surgery was required.
Last night some sepsis set in, and so now she's still stuck in the Surgical ICU, and will be there for the next few days before she can be moved to a regular hospital room.
She still isn't up and aware enough to even use her ipad, but she loves her pootie/woozle diaries.
Can you help contribute a get well fuzzbutt diary?
She's very fond of pugs.
2:14 PM PT: Not much change in her condition yet - sepsis is mucking with her blood chemistry. I thank you all for the outpouring of well wishes. We're not religious, but would never take offense over a prayer for good health.
Funny that, is that tomorrow is the 14th anniversary of when I got my dumb ass run over by a semi and spent a month in a hospital myself.
Thank you all so very much.
7:25 PM PT: With tears in my eyes, I thank you so much for every word of hope and kindness.
I love you all for this, so much.
thank you.
