If you haven't heard of the blog entry "I'm Christian unless you are gay" written by SDL (single dad ranting) yet, you should follow this link and read it.

That is actually a link to a follow up blog entry, but it has a link to the original blog right at the beginning. Here is one of the responses to the original blog posted in the follow up blog.
Dan, I came out 9 years ago and was cut off by my family for it. My mother hasn’t talked to me since I came out. This morning she showed up on my doorstep, hugged me while she was crying and asked for my forgiveness. Then she handed me a printout of your I’m Christian, unless you’re gay post. Needless to say, it’s been an emotional day for both of us. What you wrote gave me my mom back and maybe someday my family so thank you.
Another response is from a mother of a gay child who's been bullied to the point that they were moving, but after giving a print out of the blog to the school principle, a couple days ago the child came home saying bullies were apologizing and sticking up for them.
Another response is from a teenager who was about to kill themselves. They were about to post a goodbye note on facebook and saw a link to the blog. After readint he blog they read the comments including a link to an "It gets better" video and they decided that maybe they didn't want to die after all.
Another response is from a guy in Alabama who hates gays, but read the blog and realized what an awful person he was. Something switched inside and he is taking the co worker he's been fucking with for being gay for years out to have a beer after apologizing to him.
Sometimes, you feel a little powerless to make the world better, because it's simply too big. But then you read something like this and see the responses (from over half a million readers) and you realize how much power you have in just using your voice. Saying what you believe can inspire and unite people. I guess, that's why we are all here on Daily Kos, huh. Cause we already know that.
