As I sit here in our warm house that even has hot running water & the back taxes paid, I am once again moved to tears. This community, this family, has touched our lives in so many ways. There are so many people to thank & so many people who made this possible, it is impossible to name them all but I will touch on a few.
First & foremost, a huge thank you to TriciaWyse who started the fundraising drive to help us pay the back taxes due on our house. She has been our biggest cheerleader, always willing to help, always willing to listen when I was having a tough day, just always there for me & my family. She worked tirelessly to make things better for us & there are no words, no gesture that could ever repay her for all of her help. Plus, there are always the Pootie diaries to brighten our day. So I will simply say “Thank you my friend”!
Sara R wrote a diary to help us & was there to spread the word & cheer us on. Her emails were an inspiration to help us keep the faith & not give up. Without her, we wouldn’t be safe from the tax people & able to sit in a warm house. The quilts that she & Ann create are truly beautiful & a blessing to the people who receive them. Again, “Thank you my friend”.
There is Aji, who wrote the diary to raise funds for the heater & the hot water that we are now enjoying. She was upbeat & positive in her emails to me & another source of inspiration & kindness. Her diaries addressing Native American issues & helping others are inspiring, just look at the groups she belongs to. She is truly a blessing to all. “Thank you my friend”.
Oke, rfall & Belinda Ridgewood offered matching funds in Aji’s diary to be sure that we could get the heater & hot water. Their kindness made such a difference & we are very grateful for their help. “Thank you my friends”
Another Kossack is sending gifts for Cody so that he has presents for Christmas. How kind it was for her to think of him & the impact that our finances would have on our ability to have something under the tree for Cody. She is truly an angel! “Thank you my friend”
To all the Kossacks who donated money to pay our taxes, get a heater for our home & get our hot water running again, who sent kind emails with inspiration, encouragement & caring – “Thank you my friends”
To the person who sent me an anonymous lifetime subscription to Dkos that makes me feel even more welcome, “Thank you my friend”
Dkos is more than a community, it is a family & I am proud to be a member. Your diaries inspire, invoke thought, entertain & touch my heart. Kossacks step up to help others in need in ways I have never imagined. Such kindness isn’t seen so much in this world lately & it is wonderful to know that there is a place where one can go to see not just caring words, but action as well.
Thank you my friends!
Patty
Because diaries need pooties, here is Mr. Boobers enjoying the heater that you purchased!
