Un-lurking in bald, seething rage. Welcome to my first diary.
Scott Walker, the current Governor of my newly-adopted state, just does not give a shit about me. Why? Is it because I'm a hand-wringing, reactionary liberal? Is it because I drove my ass (alone)to Madison last winter to buy a sign from a nice union member and mill around in a circle with a few thousand strangers and applaud my Democratic representative until my hands burned? Or maybe because I signed a petition to recall him?
Join me below the cheese curd for details on the latest in the laundry list of things to be pissed about in Wisconsin.
It's because, through no fault or intention of my own, I have...a uterus. Whether or not it is functional is beside the point (it is, thanks for asking). This is the latest love letter from Walker's administration to the poor, uninsured, likely rural women of his state:
2011 SENATE BILL 331

It wasn't bad enough when Planned Parenthood lost funding in the last budget, was it? All avenues of of basic health care for women- like cancer screenings- are continuing to be sacrificed in service of an absolutely single minded, thoughtless, simplistic and deeply cynical vendetta against Planned Parenthood and my right to self determination.
I used to think it was leisure and education that radicalized people. Now I realize it's anger too.
